After years of working in fast fashion, Marlous witnessed firsthand how clothing is treated as a disposable commodity. She decided to make a change and aimed to create garments that are not only made with respect and love but are also treated in the same manner. This led her to the concept of Sep7emberkids: a slow fashion brand that crafts unique pieces for children and women. All items from Sep7emberkids are crafted from preloved 100% vintage wool. Marlous consciously chooses to make jackets on a made-to-order basis. This approach allows her to create valuable, one-of-a-kind pieces without the issue of excess inventory. Moreover, she doesn’t waste any part of the blankets she uses. From the remaining fabric scraps, she crafts heart- and flag-shaped garlands ans also new fabric turning into a new item, to reduce fabric waste and eventually be a circular brand.
