Welcome to Tales of Threads! We’re delighted to have you with us. Whether you’re here to find unique, handcrafted items or the materials to spark your own creativity, you’ve arrived at the right community.
Consider this your go-to guide for a smooth and enjoyable experience on our Platform, from discovering unique products to understanding purchase and dispute resolution processes.
Let’s dive in!
Our Platform
Tales of Threads is a vibrant marketplace filled with unique shops run by individual Makers. Each Maker independently manages their shop, sets their own policies, and is fully responsible for their products, shipping, and following the law. Our Platform simply provides the space where these transactions happen. We don’t make, store, or ship products ourselves.
Your use of our Platform
We grant you access to our Platform under certain conditions:
- You agree not to use our Platform for illegal activities, including fraud, theft, unfair competition, threats, or any kind of unlawful behavior.
- You are not allowed to disassemble, reverse engineer, or in any way extract parts of our Platform or its content without explicit permission from us.
- You should avoid actions that could damage or compromise the security and functionality of our Platform, such as spreading viruses or overloading our site with too many requests.
- We welcome and value your feedback and creative ideas, which are vital for our ongoing improvement. By sharing your ideas with us, you grant us permission to use them globally without needing to compensate you.
Customer service
For any questions about products or orders, you should reach out directly to the responsible Maker. Each product listing includes a reference to the responsible Maker and a link to their shop page. Their email address is located in the “About” section of their shop, and you can initiate contact via Whatsapp using the “Message me on Whatsapp” button on their shop page.
It’s imperative, however, that these communication channels are utilized with care and respect by both parties:
- Refrain from sending any unsolicited advertisements, promotions, donation requests, or any form of spam.
- Do not engage in harassment or any form of abuse.
- Cease contacting anyone who has explicitly requested no further communication.
- Avoid interfering in the transactions or business dealings of others.
- Do not share personal, financial, or sensitive information outside our Platform, including but not limited to phone numbers, addresses, social media handles, external website links, or instructions for off-platform transactions.
Purchases
By making a purchase on Tales of Threads, you’re supporting an independent Maker, each with their unique listings, policies, and processing times. When you buy an item, you agree that you:
- Read the item description and shop policies before making a purchase;
- Submitted appropriate payment for item(s) purchased; and
- Provided accurate shipping information to the Maker.
All our payments are handled through Paypal Marketplace. PayPal Marketplace is a service offered by PayPal Holdings, Inc., and using PayPal means you agree to the PayPal User Agreement. We may share your personal or transactional data with Paypal to facilitate payment processing.
The exchange of contact information for the purpose of circumventing the Tales of Threads checkout system is strictly prohibited.
All prices listed include a 21% tax rate unless otherwise indicated.
Cancelling an order, returning an item or reporting an issue
Return and cancellation policies are set by each individual Maker and are detailed within their product listing descriptions. It’s worth noting that not every seller may accept cancellations or returns.
If you need to cancel an order, return an item, request a refund, or report an issue with your order, the initial step is directly contacting the Maker. Each product listing includes a brief description of the Maker and a link to their shop page. Their email address is conveniently located in the “About” section of their shop, and you can initiate contact via Whatsapp using the “Message me on Whatsapp” button on their shop page.
It’s crucial for Makers to have clear policies on cancellations, returns and refunds, and equally important for you to be familiar with these before you buy.
Our Help Center
Makers are expected to respond to your messages within 48 hours. If you haven’t received a reply within this timeframe, or if the issue persists unresolved, you can reach out to our Help Center accessible in the footer of our Platform. We will step in to assist in resolving the matter, which may involve automatically closing the case and issuing a refund, or providing further mediation to help both parties reach a resolution.
Please consider the following:
- Cases can be opened for items that never arrived, were delivered beyond the estimated delivery period, arrived damaged, or didn’t match the listing.
- You’re limited to one method of dispute resolution with a seller on Tales of Threads. If you’ve initiated a chargeback with your credit card issuer, opening a case is not an option. A Tales of Threads case will be closed if a chargeback is filed subsequently.
- For purchases made via PayPal seeking a refund, Tales of Threads might advise reaching out to PayPal.
- The window to file a case opens after the estimated delivery date of your order, extending 100 days from this point.
Content
As a user of our Platform, you engage with content created and uploaded by us or our Makers.
We actively moderate the content on our Platform manually, including listings and reviews, to ensure it aligns with our community guidelines. We are committed to protecting intellectual property rights and take reports of infringement seriously. While we cannot provide legal advice, we act swiftly to address credible reports of intellectual property infringement in accordance with our policies.
Your vigilance helps us maintain a safe and respectful environment. If you encounter content that violates our guidelines, please report it to us at info@talesofthreads.eu. Your reports play a crucial role in upholding the quality and integrity of our marketplace.
Your privacy
Our Privacy Policy sets out how we collect, use, and share your personal data when you engage with our Platform.
Both ourselves and our Makers process your personal data, encompassing details such as your name, email addresses, and shipping particulars. As per EU law, each entity is regarded as an individual and autonomous data controller of your personal data. Consequently, they are accountable for the data they handle while facilitating our Platform. For instance, should a Maker inadvertently disclose your name and email address while fulfilling another order, the responsibility for this unauthorized disclosure lies with the Maker, not with us.
What you can’t hold us responsible for

We simply provide the marketplace; the items on our Platform are produced, listed, and sold directly by independent Makers, so we cannot and does not guarantee their quality, safety, authenticity, or legality. Any legal claim related to an item you purchase must be directed solely at the Maker of that item. You absolve us from any claims related to items purchased through our Platform, including for defective items, misrepresentations by Makers, or items that caused physical harm (such as product liability claims).

Third-party services
Our Platform may feature links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us (for example, links to Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest). Additionally, using some of our Platform might require a third-party product or service (such as a compatible mobile device for our apps). Accessing third-party services is done at your own risk. These third parties have their own terms of use, which are not affiliated with Tales of Threads; any agreements are solely between you and the third party.
Warranties
We are committed to delivering the best possible service, but we acknowledge that we’re not flawless and sometimes things may not go as planned. Please understand that our Platform are provided “as is” and “as available,” without any kind of warranty, whether expressed or implied.

Liability limits
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we (including our officers, directors, employees, agents, subsidiaries, partners, or affiliates) are not liable for any lost profits or revenues, or for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with our Platform or these Rules.
In no event shall our aggregate liability for any damages exceed the greater of €100. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
We sincerely hope it never comes to this, but we are ever sued or receive a claim, notice, or demand because of something you did (or failed to do), you’re agreeing to defend and indemnify us. In essence, this means you’ll take on the legal defense, reimburse, and compensate us (this includes our employees, officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, and affiliates) for any allegations, claims, demands, lawsuits, losses, liabilities, or expenses of any kind (which includes reasonable attorneys’ fees) that stem from your actions, how you use (or misuse) our Platform, any breach of these Rules, transactions of items you buy through our Platform, and/or your actual or alleged infringement of any law or the rights of a third party. We reserve the right to manage our legal defense in the way we see fit, even if you’re indemnifying us. In that case, you agree to cooperate with us so we can implement our strategy effectively.
Governing law
Any disputes arising between us will be governed solely by Dutch law and decided exclusively in the courts of the Netherlands, except where such provisions are prohibited by law. If you are an individual consumer, you may have the right to utilize the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, and/or to initiate legal proceedings in the courts of your country. Should we need to enforce our rights against you as an individual consumer, we will do so only in your country of residence.
Changes to these Rules
We occasionally update these Rules, which can involve adding new rules, modifying existing ones, or removing rules altogether. When significant changes are made, we’ll inform you ahead of time by posting an update on our Platform and/or reaching out directly via email or message. By continuing to use our Platform after these changes take effect, you’re agreeing to the revised Rules. If you disagree with the updates, you have the option to close your account.
Termination
We’d be sorry to see you leave, but if you wish to terminate your account with Tales of Threads, you can do so at any time through your account settings. Please note that any outstanding bills will still need to be settled.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account (as well as any related accounts determined by Tales of Threads) and your access to our Platform if we have reason to believe that you, your content, or your use of our Platform violates these rules. If such action is taken, it’s important to understand that you don’t retain a contractual or legal right to continue using our Platform, such as buying on our Platform. We typically notify you if your account has been terminated or suspended, except in cases where repeated violations of our rules occur or legal or regulatory reasons prevent us from doing so.
If your account is terminated, you may lose access to any information associated with your account, including your content.
We also reserve the right to change, suspend, or discontinue any of our Platform at any time and for any reason. We won’t be held liable for any effects these changes may have on you.
Even after your access to our Platform is terminated or your use of our Platform ends, these Rules will remain in effect.
